IT WAS A TEMPERATE DAY during the Golden Age of man, and Helios soaked the ground in warm rays of sunshine. This was a time when the gods and goddesses inspired their creations, and among them walked the young goddess, Persephone. A daughter born of Zeus and Demeter, she was the goddess of fertility and growth on the earth, much like her great grandmother, Gaea of the Titans, who ruled before the Olympians.
