The days following Hermes and Hecate's departure had passed in a haze of anticipation and dread. Before Persephone could fully grasp the passage of time, she found herself waking on the final day of her agreement with Hades. Ninety days had come and gone, leaving her with a disconcerting sense of incompleteness, as if she needed more time to untangle the complex web of emotions that had ensnared her.
